Benin - Requirement of ECTN number (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note) BESC - Bordereau Electronique

For import cargo arriving into Benin beginning September 1, 2019, ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note) becomes a mandatory requirement.

The shipper is responsible to advise the ECTN reference during export formalities and to insert the ECTN on shipping instructions.

Failure to indicate the ECTN number will delay the import clearance process with local customs authorities.
